You must have come across several bitter marketing experiences narrated by affiliates and online marketers. These bitter experiences are nothing but the direct consequences of some of the most common mistakes practiced by 70 percent of the inexperienced affiliates.

If you are an aspiring affiliate, then reading the below mentioned list of “top mistakes practiced by affiliate marketers” can certainly help you in planning a foolproof affiliate marketing strategy:

  1. Beginning at the wrong side of the road: Now that you have made up your mind to become an affiliate, your primary job would be “decision making” just like any other business, in affiliate marketing too, you need to take lot of wise decisions in the beginning stage. This would determine your future in this line of marketing. Remember, affiliate marketing is a more demanding job than most of the marketing counterparts. You get paid only if you sell. This equals your responsibility to that of the seller himself. So, you have to place yourself in the role of a seller or rather a manufacturer for whom sales is the sole source of profit. So think before choosing the niche to be marketed. You should be confident about your knowledge and bargaining capacity pertaining to the range of products or services you choose. Do not imitate your affiliate friends or colleagues; do not go after online suggestions. Choose only a product that entertains your interests and matches your skills.
  2. Selecting too many products at a time: You have 24 hours in a day. And if you are a new entrant, I presume that you have a full-time employment. If that is the case, then you would be left with very little time for your affiliate marketing activities. And even if you are someone who can dedicate your entire day to marketing research and works, you can’t afford to handle more than 3 to 4 campaigns in the initial stages. You have to create dedicated websites, contents and market your links during the launching stages. No one can concentrate on several products or services at a time. Hence, keep your choices limited but efforts focused. You can accelerate your success by following this simple strategy.
  3. Working alone: Appointing marketing assistants at the beginning stages might seem like an extravagance to many of you. But try to analyze the entire affair in a professional and practical manner. Once you allocate your time for various marketing activities you would find that you cannot handle the entire system alone. Even if you work extra hours you will be forced to compensate on quality or quantity or both. The results may not be too encouraging. This happens with everyone sooner or later. So, try to be dynamic and try not to limit your business just because you are reluctant to hire an employee or two. Look for part time workers or online promotional agents or writers. Trust me, if you have dedicated and talented assistants working for you, your affiliate venture would outgrow its initial promises.
